FAQs

What can I expect during my first appointment?

During your first appointment, I will begin to get a thorough understanding of your background, your struggles, and what makes you the person that you are. I will be asking some questions to get to know you, but no need to be nervous. We will review the business's policies, confidentiality, HIPPA, and schedule our next session.

I am interested in therapy, What is the process?

Please call or email to arrange a time to speak on the phone. I offer a 15 minutes free consultation to discuss next steps and set up a time to talk.

what is your cancellation policy?

I understand if something comes up and you need to reschedule your session.

Whenever that's the case, I encourage you to always get in touch to find the best solution. We will talk about this practice's cancellation policy in the first sessions, and you will receive written forms explaining in detail how it works.

Do you take insurance?

I am a in-network provider for Cigna/ Aetna/ United Healthcare, Anthem and Blue Cross Blue Shield and few others.

If I am not in-network with your insurance, you can check your out-of-network benefit.

This means that you will pay the full fee at the time of your appointment.  I will provide you with a superbill, upon request, that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. The superbill will list your diagnoses and protected health information in order for you to get possible reimbursement.

To find out if you have Out of Network benefits call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask about your OON benefits. Good questions to ask include:

  1. Do I have out-of-network benefits for psychotherapy?

  2. Do I have to meet an Out-of-network deductible?

  3. What is that deductible?

  4. Once that deductible is met how much of the session fee will I be reimbursed for? Insurance will typically give you a percentage. Let’s say your session fee is $200 and insurance says they will reimburse you for 80% of the session fee, that means that they will reimburse you for  $160 of the session. After reimbursement, your out-of-pocket cost will have been $40.

  5. How do I submit a superbill for reimbursement?

  6. How long do I have to submit my superbill?

If you instead prefer to keep your diagnoses and PHI private from insurance you can opt to be a self-pay client.
